Work with the edges of the day
Early morning produces quieter lanes and cooler colour; late afternoon gives dimension to terraces and façades. Midday can work for graphic shadows, harbour reflections and food details. Bad light is often a reason to change subject, not village.
Keep circulation open
Do not place tripods on station stairs, harbour ramps, residential doorways or narrow trail corners. Take the frame, move aside and let daily life continue. Drones are regulated and can disturb residents, wildlife and emergency operations; check all current national, Park and local restrictions before considering a flight.
Photograph context
The strongest story is larger than colourful houses. Include dry-stone walls, vineyard rails, fishing equipment, churches and the vertical relationship between settlement and land. Ask before making identifiable portraits or photographing inside small businesses.
Use a wrist strap near water and avoid climbing barriers for a cleaner angle. No photograph is worth entering a closed trail or unstable rock edge.
